About K&M Insulation
Here at K&M Insulation we specialise in the removal of Cavity Wall Insulation. The main reasons for this is normally the property is suffering from damp where the material has become wet / failed or been incorrectly installed. We have over 18 years 'hands on' experience in the Insulation trade and operate as part of a two man team covering the Devon and Cornwall area.
We also specialise in Loft Insulation Installs as well as Loft Insulation Removal, we normally remove the loft insulation due to roof leaks or the unfortunate case of an infestation.
How we operate
Usually we work on properties where the Cavity Wall Insulation has become wet from prolonged periods of wind and rain. Over time the Insulation can allow the water to ingress and "bridge" to the internal wall causing damage such as damp or mould. In more severe cases the internal plaster can start to crack and blow, which can lead to more expense. Wet Insulation isn’t always the case as incorrectly installed Insulation can be just as devastating by causing cold spots.
We offer free surveying to local areas in Plymouth with either full or partial extractions depending on property type.
With our Loft Insulation service we make sure we meet or exceed the minimum recommended specs of 270mm thickness.

Prepping and
Extraction
We will only use the existing drill pattern and add minimal extras where required with a 22mm drill bit. With the extraction point we would either remove a brick or with render properties a 4 inch core hole.
Making good
We plug and make good all our holes with sand and cement and replace bricks removed etc. At the end of the job if the customer has the paint required we are more than happy to touch up the holes leaving the property as we found it.
